How I Do: Flatlays
2:37 AM
Flatlays! this one is the most notable thing when it comes to Instagramming, I am sure you had seen some engaging flatlays from your favorite bloggers(maybe me?) and online influencers. If Instagram is one of your priority, then you should know one aspect that may beautify your feed.
Since you guys are asking me on how I usually do my flatlays, Here are some things that I consider:
1. The Subjects Background
The background really matters because it complement on the product you wanted to promote or the things that you want to make other's notice from your picture. I prefer using plain backgrounds with smooth texture: cartolina and clean bed sheets to create an eye catching flatlay, as much as possible choose a pastel color for the cartolina so the background would make a calming view for the eyes.
2. lighting
The lighting is the most important factor in doing flatlays because It gives the picture a high quality look. Use a natural light to make the subjects shadow and background establish their purposes. Wherever you are and you wanted to do an Ideal flaylay, Look for an open space where you can get a natural lighting and ventilation to produce a picture that may attract the eyes of somebody.
3. Experimentation
In doing flatlays, Do not settle on the first arrangement you had created! Experiment with your layout, Do not say "This is already Fine" because you should look for a "Great " layout!, Arrange the items until you find the layout you are happy with. You can place the objects with the pattern: large objects surrounded by small objects, small object surrounded by small objects or an object(In capturing One Item).
I've been through a lot just to know how to do a presentable flatlay! with the help of natural light, I can give the best quality of all. just remember, It doesn't matter how many shots and arrangements you have taken as long as you did your best just to capture the perfect one. from all the tips that I've given, you can now start creating flatlays like the other bloggers.
